Californio Ranch Riding
Every show we feature the $100 Added Californio Ranch Riding. This class designed to show off your Vaquero horse. It's basically a horsemanship class for ranch horses. The judge sets a simple pattern that will be posted the day of the class. The pattern can include various gaits such as loping on a specific lead or trot. It can also include a simple spin, or dragging a log. Each participant will execute the pattern and then wait in line for the rail portion to start after everyone has completed the pattern. In the rail portion, you will be asked to walk, trot, canter both directions, may be asked to extend the gait and back. You get extra credit for authentic vaquero gear. Horses are judged on working horse gaits! No peanut pushers!
This class is great fun - no pressure! Half of your entry fee goes to the pot with $100 added to that! Big money!
