The Ohio Reined Cow Horse Association

2009 NRCHA Affiliate of the Year!!

The Ohio Reined Cow Horse Association is off to a strong start! Our August 2009 show was the largest cow horse dedicated weekend show east of the Mississippi in 2009! We draw competitors from Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee, Virginia, New York and even Louisiana!

Founded in 2008, The Ohio Reined Cow Horse Association is a non-profit affiliate of the National Reined Cow Horse Association. The ORCHA is run by a volunteer Board of Directors. Our shows run mostly on volunteer help. (We say “mostly” because no one ever volunteers to work the cow pens!) Sponsorship dollars go to Added Money for shows, special prizes for shows, random draw prizes, Green Program Buckles and Year End awards. We are PARTICIPANT DRIVEN. We have a very loyal and enthusiatic group of competitors.

The future is strong
We have a plan to have BIG shows. Our Venue, Henderson’s Arena, has a huge 150 x 300 indoor pen with amazing footing and bleachers for our fans. The facility also features a covered warm up pen, several outdoor pens and 266 stalls. We have plenty of room to grow!

Strong plan in place to GROW the sport!
Don’t forget the new competitors! They are our future! We have a plan to bring in new competitors and grow the association and the sport. Our green program has 50 participants. We should graduate our first Green rider during our November event. We also feature lower priced affiliate classes to mirror the NRCHA classes so competitors can try it out, SUCCEED, and get comfortable before stepping up to NRCHA competition. We also offer “continuing Education” in the form of clinics!

None of this is possible without the support of our sponsors!!
